Palm Springs Modern
Style: Mid-Century Modern Built:
Think martinis by the poolside...this mid-century classic was designed in 1963 by the famed design firm of Palmer & Krisel and is located in sunny Palm Springs, California. Situated in Canyon View Estates, this residence has a large, open floor plan, dramatic vaulted beamed ceilings, and walls of glass and clerestory windows with fantastic mountain views.
Restoration highlights of this mid-century gem include: a new kitchen with carrara marble countertops, stainless appliances, and modern cabinetry with authentic vintage hardware. In the master suite, an original floor to ceiling window that was concealed was restored and a floating wall was built to re-orient the room to take full advantage of the breathtaking mountain and pool views. The master bath was expanded to include a walk-in shower with custom "wood" tile and cantilevered vanity. In addition, the floor plan was updated to create a second master suite including private bath and spacious vestibule giving greater separation between spaces.
High gloss porcelain floors replaced dated carpet and the entire residence was bathed in a modern color palate reflecting cool whites. In addition a new roof, electrical, and plumbing upgrades were made to keep this home cool and energy efficient.
All was thoughtfully restored to reflect clean lines and respect for space... vital design essentials of true mid century design.
