Tree Top Contemporary

Style: Contemporary    Built: 1979

Situated on one of Kensington’s most coveted streets, this custom-built home came to us directly from its original owners that designed it for themselves in partnership with a respected architect. With dramatic cathedral ceilings and sweeping views this home had all the “right stuff” but was in desperate need of updating and tweaking of the floor plan to take it to the next level. The term “open concept” comes to mind when describing how this floor plan has evolved... all without feeling cold or overly exposed.

To begin, the existing family room has been transformed into a grand master suite with soaring windows, private deck and a new spa like bathroom featuring a double shower with spectacular tree top views of San Francisco. The original master bedroom now serves as a second master suite allowing its new owner to choose where they are most comfortable or to offer guests or relatives a spacious suite with private bath, double sinks, walk in closet and again... amazing views. In addition, a new 4th bedroom has been added expanding this homes livability to accommodate a larger family or provide extra home office space.

The formally awkward kitchen was expanded and reconfigured to complement the strong architectural lines of the structure. Stone counters, stainless pro-style appliances, eat-in nook, skylights and beautiful cabinetry round off this kitchen’s transformation.

Finally, the home has taken on a new design personality featuring light an bright spaces, rich hardwood floors throughout, simple clean lines and more than 2300+ square feet of well thought out living space. Energy efficiency and green building practices remained in constant focus during this restoration.

To label this home “contemporary” or “modern” may limit its true character….it now has its own comfortable yet refined style featuring signature Bee Renovated qualities executed in the highest standards.
